The Jaguar E-Type, which appeared at the 1961 Geneva Show, garnered an unexpectedly huge response worldwide and later became Jaguar's flagship sports car.

While undoubtedly designed with the American market in mind, its flowing style combined with a powerful and robust engine made it a sensation. At the time, very few sports cars could exceed 200 km/h. The E-Type, however, not only matched the performance of high-performance sports models like Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Mercedes SL but was also sold at a significantly lower price, making it a massive hit. This particular model is a mid-production Series 2, which underwent model changes to comply with increasingly strict emissions regulations and safety standards, including carburetor modifications and larger lights.

The engine is the existing 4.2-liter inline 6-cylinder DOHC unit. While its output of approximately 220-230 horsepower via Stromberg carburetors is numerically lower than its 6-cylinder predecessor, its strong torque and overwhelmingly smooth, quiet feel actually make it easier and more pleasant to drive, allowing even beginners to handle it with ease. The transmission, carried over from the predecessor, is an in-house Jaguar 4-speed gearbox that also provides a good feel, contributing to the engine's excellent touch. Furthermore, with the Series 2, the much-criticized Lockheed brakes were replaced with Girling 3-pot types, improving both feel and stopping power.

Regarding dynamic performance, the engine revs smoothly from idle to top end, delivering a truly pleasant driving experience. Additionally, with a larger radiator and an improved water pump, overheating concerns are reduced compared to the predecessor, allowing for more confident city driving.

The interior features blue leather and, as you can see, remains in original condition. Series 2 models were equipped with headrests on the seats. The combination with the ivory body colour is quite stylish. What truly attracts people to the E-Type Roadster is its style. The coupe model, in particular, possesses breathtakingly attractive body lines. Its truly elegant design is so satisfying that simply admiring it in the garage is enough.

This vehicle was parallel imported from the US, but there are no significant damages or wear to the body or other mechanical components. Considering it's over 50 years old, this condition is quite good. The engine is running well, and the transmission is smooth with no issues. The steering is quick, light, and easy to maneuver. The effectiveness and feel of the Girling brakes are also excellent, making it a car that anyone can drive normally as is.
