Imagine this! In Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, a futuristic city called “Woven City” is being born, where robots roam the neighborhood, self-driving cars stand by, and your smart home supports your daily life!

Toyota’s latest project, Woven City, is a dream city designed to utilize innovative technologies in actual living spaces. This vast land, which was once the site of Toyota Motor East Japan’s Higashi-Fuji Plant, boasts an area equivalent to approximately 15 Tokyo Domes!

In the autumn of 2025, the first step for Woven City will be taken, with approximately 100 Toyota employees and their families scheduled to become its first residents. Ultimately, as many as 2,000 companions will experience a new way of life in this future city.

Woven City will serve as a test course where cars, roads, and people are integrated, providing a place to develop and verify future ideas. Energy will be supplied by ENEOS’s hydrogen energy, and smart city realization will be achieved through a partnership with NTT for communication. Furthermore, Nissin Foods and DyDo DRINCO have also joined, and exciting collaborations will unfold one after another.

The design of this city, by architect Bjarke Ingels, emphasizes sustainability, and eco-friendly urban development looking towards the future is underway. Now, are you ready to join this adventure into the future?
