Owned by the Singaporean military, this G-Wagon was built in 1990 and spent its life as a sentry vehicle and is showing just 101km recorded and 189 hours use.

The Wolf version of the G-Wagon was developed specifically for military use, they have now been deployed by over 45 nations, including US, Australia, Canada, The UK and Singapore, which is where this particular G-Wagon is from.

The Exterior:
The bodywork is in great shape with no major dents or damage to speak of. The “Military Green” satin paint looks in good used condition with only a few scrapes and chips, mainly to the front bumper but absolutely no signs of corrosion
Being a military vehicle, it has lightweight doors, which lift off, and a fold down windscreen. This G-Wagon also comes with a frame and canvas hood which is in good condition, with no rips or tears. The vinyl windows are missing from the hood but it should be relatively easy to replace, should you wish to.
The underside looks in great condition, again with zero corrosion and no oil leaks.
It rolls on its original 16” steel wheels wrapped in a matching set of very chunky Michelin off road tyres, all of which reflect the very minimal use the vehicle has had.

The Mechanicals:
The Wolf is powered by a 2.4 Litre naturally aspirated 4 cylinder diesel engine with selectable 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive via a 2 speed transfer case and 4 speed manual transmission.
The 2 speed transfer case gives the G240 both high and low range, the high range is for normal road use and higher speed driving and the low range is for more challenging, low speed off road terrain, making the Wolf near enough unstoppable.
The naturally aspirated diesel engine used by Mercedes in the Wolf series may not be the most powerful of the bunch but is pretty much bombproof, as longevity and reliability was prioritized over everything else. It produces 71 BHP and 101 Lb ft of torque and has proven itself in military use for over 40 years right around the world. It’s said that a Wolf can run for a million miles with just standard maintenance.
As with all first generation G Wagons, the G240 has the classic body on chassis construction with live axles front and rear riding on coil springs, giving great axle articulation and cementing its off road prowess.
This particular G Wagon is in fine mechanical order, it fires on the button, after a short pre heat of the glow plugs, with no smoke or unwanted noises, the transfer box selects nicely into all modes and the clutch is smooth and pleasant to use, no surprise really as it only has just over 100km on the clock and has been maintained by the Singaporean military.

A common problem with Singapore Military vehicles is because they tend to have very low mileages, the diesel in the tank stays in there for a long time, this in turn allows algae to form, this was no different, so the fuel tank has been removed and thoroughly cleaned it, flushed all the fuel lines and replaced the filters, ensuring this Wolf will be running smoothly for many more miles to come.
Thankfully, it has power steering fitted which combined with the light clutch makes it not nearly as intimidating to drive as you might think.

The Interior:
Being an ex military vehicle, it is very utilitarian inside, there are no carpets, just the exposed painted floorpan with removable bungs to drain any water out, 2 seats upfront, also with drain holes and 2 jump seats in the back. There are also an assortment of brackets for securing rifles etc and a large storage / ammo box in the rear.
The Dashboard contains a speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge and warning lights, all of which appear to be working as they should.
