The Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS) 2025, held for three days from January 12th, brought together Japanese automakers and tuning companies, captivating attendees with a stunning lineup of futuristic production models and alluring prototypes.

Toyota Gazoo Racing and ROOKIE Racing have joined forces to create a new motorsports entity, “TG-RR”. Their debut concept car captivated the audience with its streamlined body, featuring a large adjustable rear wing, front fender vents, a vented hood, rear bumper vents, and a meticulously crafted vertical handbrake inspired by WRC rally cars.

The GR Yaris M Concept, a collaborative effort between Toyota, Mazda, and Subaru, showcased a mid-mounted 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine powering the rear wheels, raising expectations for the next generation of mid-engine sports cars.

Mazda’s Spirit Racing division presented the new MX-5 Concept, boasting a widebody kit, enhanced aerodynamic design, and a 350bhp turbocharged engine, igniting excitement for the future of the MX-5.

Honda’s sophisticated coupe-style hybrid Prelude Concept hinted at a revival of the Prelude, integrating modern technology.

 

Nissan introduced the NISMO version of the electric SUV Ariya, flaunting its impressive design and overwhelming performance.

Subaru’s special edition sports car, the BRZ Purple Sport Edition, captivated collectors and performance enthusiasts with its unique purple paint, upgraded suspension, and exclusive interior touches.

Hyundai, in collaboration with racing driver Keiichi Tsuchiya, unveiled the Ioniq 5 N Drift King edition. Its imposing rear wing and performance enhancements underscored a new commitment to performance electric vehicles.

Liberty Walk showcased a widebody Lamborghini Miura, artfully blending classic design with modern tuning aesthetics, adding a touch of flamboyant creativity and craftsmanship to TAS 2025. Retro-themed vans also made an appearance, celebrating industry nostalgia and seamlessly merging classic styles with contemporary modifications.
